5 easy cupcake ideas for your kid’s birthday

August 10, 2019

Is it your precious boy/girl’s birthday soon?

Cupcakes are an awesome way to sweeten up a birthday.

Colourful icing, playful toppers, and good times all around.

Whether it’s your own child’s birthday, or somebody else’s — someone has to bake some awesome cupcakes, right?

If ideas aren’t popping out at you, here are 5 easy ideas for the perfect birthday cupcakes

#1. Super toppers

Every child has a favourite superhero or Disney princess.

It could be Batman, Superman, Elsa, or anyone. No matter who it is, there’s bound to be some toppers somewhere! With everything being online now, I’m sure you’ll find your child’s favourite character on a topper.

And best of all, they’re easy. You just poke them into your cupcake and they’re instantly more appealing

#2. Add some animals

Children love animals, and so do we!

Why not add their favourite animal to their cupcakes?

You could draw animal faces on with cream, use fondant to create small animal models, or you can even bake them like gingerbread animals.

#3. Make it floral

Not every child likes flowers, but if yours does, it’s a cute little way to decorate your cupcakes.

You can keep it simple and use piping bags to create butterscotch flowers.

Or you can take it a step further and create flower figurine models.

Not sure how to make this yourself? Come in for one of our figuring modelling classes to learn or if you’re low on time, get in touch with us and we can make it for you!

#4. Put a number to it

While it might be hard to add a 21 to a bite-sized cupcake, it’s easy to add a single digit number.

Make your child’s birthday even more special, and make your photos more memorable. Add their age to their cupcake with a numerical birthday candle.

It makes the cupcakes even more fun when they get to blow their candle out and make a wish.

#5. Make it colourful

Children love colourful things. Make their cupcakes more fun by combining their favourite colours and add it to their icing. Or get some coloured sprinkles from the supermarket and sprinkle them on top.
