Winter’s storming through and it’s time to switch up our cake designs to suit the change in weather.
From white icing, berry toppings, to miniature Santa Clauses — there are so many Winter designs to give your cake that Winter Wonderland feeling.
But if you’re strapped for ideas, here are a few Winter Wonderland cake inspirations for this Winter.
Christmas in July
While we don’t get to celebrate Christmas in December, that doesn’t stop us from getting in the Christmas spirit during July.
Add some candy canes, red and green sprinkles (you can buy these from Coles or Woolworths), and some red berries to your cake.
These Christmas colours topped off with white icing will definitely get your cake that Winter Wonderland vibe.
Feeling like a little extra?
You can even get a Santa Claus sugar figurine model made for your cake.
Not sure how to make this yourself? Come in for one of our figuring modelling classes to learn or if you’re low on time, get in touch with us and we can make it for you!
Gingerbread decorations
Want an easier way to get that Winter Wonderland or Christmas look going for your cake?
Add some gingerbread decorations! They’re so much easier to bake and you can even use icing to draw cute designs to add your own personal touch.
You could even add some little gingerbread men (or women) to your cake. Or if you’re feeling up for it, you could even top your cake with a gingerbread house! How cool is that?
Or keep it simple with just white
You don’t have to get super extravagant to make your cake look Wintery. Just some white icing and a splash of colour are all you need.
You don’t even have to go crazy with the icing if you’re feeling health conscious. Even a thin layer gives it that light snow look.
Add some berries and you have the perfect (but simple!) Winter cake.
